LS Global specializes in optimizing business operations worldwide through expert outsourcing. We are currently recruiting for one of our clients for a Manager Account. Product Margin position. This senior role is responsible for overseeing all accounting activities related to inventory and product margin, leading month-end close processes, and ensuring the accuracy of financial reporting across multiple sales channels. The successful candidate will serve as a key leader in identifying margin trends, maintaining robust internal controls, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to drive operational excellence and profitability.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage all accounting activities related to inventory, product margin, cost of goods sold, and revenue accounting to ensure accurate financial reporting.
- Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes related to inventory and gross margin, including account reconciliations, journal entries, analysis, and reporting.
- Develop, implement, and maintain inventory control policies, procedures, and best practices to ensure inventory accuracy across stores, distribution centers, eCommerce, and other selling channels.
- Monitor inventory transactions and balances to identify discrepancies, determine root causes, and implement corrective actions to minimize future variances.
- Oversee and review store register reconciliations and related cash and sales balancing activities, ensuring discrepancies are investigated and resolved timely.
- Ensure all sales, inventory, and costing transactions are accurately recorded and reconciled to supporting systems and subledgers.
- Maintain ownership of inventory costing methodologies and ensure accurate application of costing principles within financial systems.
- Coordinate and oversee physical inventory counts and cycle count programs in partnership with third-party inventory services and internal stakeholders.
- Analyze inventory shrink, product margin performance, and operational trends, providing recommendations to improve profitability and inventory accuracy.
- Partner with Merchandising, Supply Chain, Store Operations, Loss Prevention, and IT teams to resolve inventory issues and support strategic initiatives.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or MBA preferred.
- 5+ years of experience in accounting or finance, with a strong focus on inventory accounting, product margin analysis, or retail finance in a multi-location environment.
- Demonstrated experience leading month-end close processes, account reconciliations, and financial reporting for inventory and COGS.
- Strong knowledge of inventory control methodologies, physical count coordination, and audit procedures.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (complex formulas, data modeling, pivots) and experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite) and retail POS systems.
- Proven experience managing, coaching, and developing accounting teams, with a focus on fostering accountability and professional growth.
- Highly analytical mindset with the ability to identify operational trends, investigate discrepancies, and drive process improvements.
- Ability to manage competing priorities, meet tight deadlines, and maintain accuracy in a high-volume transaction environment.
- Excellent communication skills (English C1 proficiency)
